Membership in APPI is exclusive to physicians and as a physician member, you will have access to all APPI and ACRP sections of the website, including all special member rates for events and products. 

Please note: In January 2008 the APPI website merged with the ACRP website for increased functionality and greater cohesion between the two organizations. The online transaction system and APPI application process is managed through the ACRP website. You will be directed to an ACRP webpage to complete the online application process.

About APPI Membership

Together with our affiliate physician organization ACRP (the Association of Clinical Research Professionals), APPI is the leading global professional organization addressing the unique issues and challenges of Pharmaceutical Physicians and Physician Investigators. Through the voluntary efforts of our members, APPI has become a global forum for members to express views and receive advice and support on improving the contribution of pharmaceutical medicine to the discovery, development, registration and marketing of innovative and useful medicines.  Through the establishment of pharmaceutical medicine as a rigorous and demanding scientific and managerial discipline, APPI seeks to enhance the image of pharmaceutical physicians.

Who is Eligible to Become a Member?

All pharmaceutical physicians and all physicians in good standing (MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent degree) who, in addition to their other professional work, devote a substantial portion of their time to:

  • Performing studies of drugs, biologics, devices, vaccines or diagnostics
  • Activities related to research, development or regulation of these products
  • Teaching the subject of pharmaceutical medicine and who will uphold the policies of APPI and subscribe to its bylaws
